Home of the First Jet Engine (Turbo Town), this plant produced the worlds finest Jet Engines, Generators, Turbines, and Reduction Gears at one time. The company and its four Unions are happy to host the 2008 VPPPA Fall Region I Chapter Meeting.
- Request RSVP so we can process the Plant Passes before your arrival.
- Passes can be obtained at the Gate, also RSVP will cut down on the time it takes for processing.

- June 26th, 2008 - 2009 Scholarship Information
There will be two 2009 Scholarships to be awarded at next year's 2009 Region 1 VPPPA Conference in Killington, Vermont. Employees of VPPPA member sites and their immediate family members are eligible to apply. See the attached documents regarding these scholarships.

- May 7th, 2008 - Region 1 Chapter VPPPA announces its 2008 Scholarship Winners
Region 1 Chapter VPPPA announced its 2008 Scholarship Winners at the
Region 1 Conference in Newport, RI on Monday, April 28. The winners of
$1000 scholarships selected from 7 applicants were:
The Academic Excellence Scholarship Winner is Ms. Krystal Bibeau (pictured),
Livermore, Maine, a Mathematics Major at the University of Maine at
Farmington. Krystal is the daughter of a Verso Paper, Jay, Maine
employee.
The Occupational Safety / Health Scholarship Winner is Mrs. Dorota
Zuchowicz, Middletown, Connecticut, a Nursing Major at the University of
Connecticut. Dorota is the wife of an Ahlstrom LLC, Windsor Lock,
Connecticut employee.
- April 13th, 2008 - VPPPA Theme Quilt for National Conference
Some VPPPA members from Potlatch in Region X are preparing a VPPPA quilt for raffling off at the national VPPPA Conference in Anaheim later this year. But one thing the ladies from Potlatch are missing is shirts with logos from the different regions. If you would like to contribute to the quilt, please send any old shirts with the region logo or past conference logos to the following person (Ella is one of the quilters). These need to be sent to her as soon as possible (as it takes several months to put together).
